With that thought in mind, Southeastern Radiology, P.A., a full service diagnostic center, has created a special place for women to take care of themselves, appropriately named …… The Women’s Imaging Center.

It’s a 7500 square foot addition to the existing facility housing all of the center’s women imaging services including mammography, ultrasound and osteoporosis scanning. There is a separate entrance for women utilizing these services.

"The Women’s Imaging Center offers a private, home-like setting for patients"
Dr. Cheryl Viglione, Director of Women’s Imaging Services says, “Women prefer a private, home-like setting for their procedures as well as some of the amenities we offer.” Some amenities include large, private dressing rooms with satin hangers, cloth robes, and tea and cookies for those who can indulge without interfering with their procedure.

The Women’s Imaging Center has the latest state-of-the-art equipment in mammography, ultrasound and osteoporosis scanning. With the opening of The Women’s Imaging Center, three new mammogram and three new ultrasound machines have been added offering the most up-to-date imaging technology. This will allow increased availability for the services to the community. This additional equipment will also allow greater flexibility in scheduling, including same day service for mammography, ultrasound and osteoporosis scanning when needed.

"Media area offers educational materials on timely women’s healthcare topics"
The Women’s Imaging Center has a sub waiting area where patients can review educational videos, brochures and publications pertaining to women’s health.

"Who Says Mammograms Have to be Painful?"
Some women may be hesitant to have a mammogram because of “horror” stories they have heard about how painful a mammogram can be. Dr. Viglione points out that mammograms do not have to be painful. Today, with the new technology and technologists who know how to perform the exam comfortably, high-quality images can be obtained without undue discomfort.

A patient recently remarked on her patient questionnaire survey, “a lot of women say mammograms are painful, but it never has been for me at your facility.” Another patient wrote “this was my first mammogram and from all the stories I heard on how painful the procedure is, it’s not. I would recommend your facility to everyone.”
